Hi there,
My name is sarah higgins and i am a local girl, lots know me around from the accident i had as a kid age 16 with local lad david edwards which left us both disabled i was then sarah pearce. I am writing on here to ask for help, i have set myself up to use my manual wheelchair to do 13 miles of the tissington trail on or around (weather permit) the 24 th july. It is all in aid of a little boy who needs specialist treatment for cancer in america which could save his life. What i am needing is for some really kind people to either donate a prize for a raffle linked to this sponsor or for you to sponsor a small amount of money to help me reach my target or even provide me with some gear for training in for eg a sweatshirt, waterproof or something like maybe with your company logo i could use for media pics. In return you will get a mention in any newspaper articles that i set up, i am contacting peak ad, derbyshire times, derby telegraph , and have already been accepted for a local derby mag which reaches 5000 , i will be writing to any local mags as well.. I t really would be great to get some support from the local businesses and will spur me on to great distances! so if you would like to contact me on 07850189221 asking for sarah, you could email me on higgins.sarah29@yahoo.com, or visit my site at below Any help will be greatly received.
Haig House / snooker in Bakewell

Not being from Bakewell but having visited in the past mainly through playing for a local snooker team, I heard a rumour the Haig House was no longer in existence.

I played there many times when they were located at the Bath House and I understand they moved a few years ago and just recently have heard it is now defunct, can anyone confirm this?

In fact there used to be three snooker venues in the town for many years which always had at least one or two teams in the Darley Dale League over a long period of time - the others being the Conservative Club and the Working Mens Club.

The last I heard one or two of these teams had relocated into the Hope Valley Snooker League, but a search on the net for anything to do with that draws a total blank - does anyone know if such a league is in existence at all or has it folded?
I can find reference only to a Hope Valley Pool League.

It would be nice if a team or two from Bakewell could rejoin our league again at some stage as teams in rural leagues are generally dwindling and we do miss our trips up north!! (well I know its not that far!).
Thanks for any info.

Hi,
I visited Bakewell today with my parents and whilst there my mother lost a brown leather glove (size . We believe she dropped it whilst in the Granby Road Car Park and are asking if people that live or work in the area could have a look for it. We were parked in a bay that back onto a brick wall with houses behind it. They are an expensive pair and my mother is really upset so I am willing to offer a monetary reward to anyone who finds it and can post it to me in Leicester.

Help would be really appreciated.

Charlotte
